Become a volunteer at CENTRALEN

We are looking for volunteers to support events. Centralen is a venue and cultural center where we value diversity, community, and above all music and culture. Centralen is a part of Youth and Cultural Center.

Volunteers are an important part of the organization at Centralen, as it simply would not be possible to organize concerts and events without this group.

Volunteers work in areas such as bar, entrance, wardrobe, photography, lighting, and event execution. As part of the team, you have the opportunity to make your mark on Centralen and UKH. Additionally, the volunteer group works on various ad hoc tasks that may arise throughout the year.

Volunteers are assigned to a specific work area, and monthly schedules are created. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer at Centralen. Additionally, it is expected that you have an interest in cultural areas, have good collaboration skills, are engaged in Centralen's work, and are always welcoming to the audience and musicians.

At Centralen, there are various employee benefits for volunteers, such as free access to all Centralen concerts, discounted prices at the bar, the opportunity to have friends and family on the guest list. Additionally, we hold several social events throughout the year for all employees at Centralen.

Work areas for volunteers

Bar/door: This is the largest volunteer group. You usually arrive one hour before the doors open, and tasks include preparing the bar, wardrobe, and hall, restocking supplies, customer service at both entrance and bar, and cleanup after the concert closes.

Lighting: As a lighting assistant at Centralen, you work closely with Centralen's technician. You usually arrive in the afternoon and attend sound checks. Occasionally bands bring their own lighting technician or visuals, and cooperation and flexibility are required. You are free when the concert ends and the stage is cleared. Lighting assistants have a few shifts per month.

Photography: Here you have the opportunity to be creative and develop your photography skills. The framework is very open, as long as you consider both musicians and the audience. Centralen uses the photos in various contexts, and the photographer is always credited.

Event Execution: The event executor arrives early in the afternoon and prepares the house to welcome the musicians. As an event executor, you are responsible for several practical things related to the musicians and ticket sales, and it requires good organization and situational awareness, as various situations may arise during the shift. You are free when the doors open for the audience.

Interior Design: Centralen strives to hold great events and challenge boundaries. Become part of a team that supports events with creative expression.
